You have:

  • School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields with four years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
  • Experience working with migrants, refugees, and other vulnerable groups.
  • Specific experience in planning and implementing EU funded projects.
  • Proficiency in report drafting;
  • Proficiency in the English language (oral and written);
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills;
  • Advanced Computer literacy (MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Internet);
  • Very good organizational and coordination skills;
  • Knowledge/understanding of financial rules and regulations.
  • Fluency in English and Montenegrin is required (oral and written).

Contract

This is a G-6 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 6 years of experience, depending on education. More about G-6 contracts.

Under the direct supervision of the National Projects Officer and in close coordination with the Chief of Mission, the Project Coordinator will be responsible and accountable to coordinate assigned project activities in line with IOM policies and procedures and donor requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

• School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or, • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations; • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and, • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. • Specific experience in planning and implementing EU funded projects is an advantage.

Skills

• Proficiency in report drafting; • Proficiency in the English language (oral and written); • Excellent communication and analytical skills; • Advanced Computer literacy (MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Internet); • Very good organizational and coordination skills; and • Knowledge/understanding of financial rules and regulations.

Languages

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities will include but not limited to the following activities: 1. Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting of project activities. 2. Compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific project topics, highlighting noteworthy issues for the consideration of appropriate parties. 3. Monitor budget implementation and propose adjustments as necessary. 4. Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, follow-up on administrative actions, etc. 5. Implement all project activities in line with project instructions, IOM Polices standards and SOPs. 6. Coordinate and ensure visibility activities are carried out in respect of the donor visibility rules and requirements. Provide regular status reports; identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor and suggest immediate corrective measures. 7. Draft correspondence on project issues; briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentation. 8. Coordinate the preparation of narrative and financial reports to donor, ensure the collection and consolidation of inputs from partners and project team, ensure status reports are prepared and submitted in a timely manner, and in line with the donor and PRIMA instructions. 9. Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions and study visits. 10. Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records. 11. Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project. Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) and concept papers and provide general support for the development of new projects. 12. Provides guidance/training and assist in coordinating and monitoring work of other staff in the unit; may supervise other staff as assigned. 13. Perform other related duties as assigned.
