The Visual Design and Infographics Officer is responsible to the Head Health Communication.

Responsibilities- Develops designs for visual communication materials based on assignment briefs and provides recommendations on the best and most relevant visual design styles to produce clear, concise and engaging visuals that convey key messages for internal and external target audiences.

- Analyses graphic design requirements and develops and implements a strategic plan to increase the profile of publications and other products issued by the Health Department.

- Design the health department guidelines and technical instructions document and update where necessary in consultation with the headquarters focal points.

- Design infographic animated and flat for technical guidelines and technical instructions.

- Design of campaign materials, Information education and communication materials and other behaviour change communication material (print, audio and video etc).

- Design annual report and other HD reports including templates (where not available), infographics, formatting, and other required parameters. Draft and design meeting agendas, meeting schedule, infographics, and related content.

- Design of any visibility materials as per UNRWA and donor guidelines other than those listed above and as needed for the health department activities by different sub-programs (e.g.: ICD-11 integration into e-Health materials (brochure, report, video animation, agenda, and backdrop designs, COIVD 19 daily update design and COVID 19 advocacy materials-ongoing as long as the pandemic is prevailing.

Education A university degree from an accredited educational institution in graphic design, information technology, communications, marketing or a related field.

Work Experience At least five years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in the field of graphic design, visual design or visual communications . (Required).

At least two years of experience in the development of infographics and other visual graphic design materials for publications, reports and promotional materials. (Required).

Demonstrated experience in graphic design, including in relation to the use of design software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint and Prezi. (Required).

Proven experience of graphic production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and color management. (Required).

Previous professional experience with the United Nations or similar organization in a related field. (Desirable)

Familiarity with UNRWA communication and branding guidelines. (Desirable)

A university degree from an accredited educational institution in graphic design, information technology, communications, marketing or a related field. (Required).

Special Notice Type of Contract: Limited Duration Contract (LDC), Band F.

The Limited Duration Contract applies to external candidates and UNRWA internal candidates on LDC.

Duration of Contract: Essentially until 31 March 2023 - with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need, to cover for the absence of the incumbent during Special Leave Without Pay.

This vacancy notice is open to internal and external candidates. Only candidates residing in Jordan, and within commuting distance of the duty station with authorization to work in the duty station at the time of application are eligible to apply.
