Payment Methods: This position will be a SSA on daily rate. The incumbent is supposed to work tentatively 90 days within an 11-month period. The payment will be based only on the days worked.

JOB PURPOSE

Support WFP BDCOs country strategy plan through creative storytelling.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

• Create and develop a content plan, encompassing video, photo, text, and other creative formats, in line with the country office’s communication strategy and related workplans • Oversee the implementation of the content plan and undertake filming, writing, photography and other related tasks • Work independently, as well as part of a team, including collaborating with other units to ensure the service is maximized • Develop a content calendar and related production schedules and ensure its timely execution • Caption and log material produced and upload to WFP multimedia database following WFP content guidelines • Provide post-production services, including editing, scripting and distribution • Conduct evaluation of content for improvement • Support and maintain WFP’s social media presence • Coordinate with the regional bureau and headquarters to get the content cleared and disseminated through regional and global channels • Provide other communication-related support as needed

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: First University degree in Journalism, International Relations, Public Relations, Communications or other relevant field. Experience: At least 5 years of progressively responsible support experience including at least two years in the field of public information or storytelling. Knowledge & Skills: Proven ability to effectively use word processing, spreadsheets and other standard office technology equipment. Thorough knowledge of filming, writing, photography. Good knowledge of information management principles. Languages: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This position reports to the Head of Communications, with functional supervision from the Regional Communications Officer, to ensure that the CO communications activities serve WFP needs in the country of assignment, taking into consideration the overall regional communications plan and WFP’s corporate communications goals.
