Job Description

Background:

The International Rescue Committee is a leader in global malnutrition treatment in children under five and at the forefront of efforts to expand treatment coverage through reform. Communicating the IRC’s nutrition expertise and policy priorities is an essential component of influencing donors, policymakers, and the humanitarian community, and increasing public urgency to address the malnutrition crisis.

The proposed contract seeks a creative minded designer/agency with experience in issue advocacy and with global audiences to partner on the creation of a suite of materials across multiple formats.

Scope of Work:

- Define suite of assets in partnership with the Health Communications Specialist and create project timeline allowing for ample feedback and revision. - Clearly convey what information and materials are needed from the IRC nutrition team to effectively deliver on contract deliverables. - Work with Health Communications Specialist and relevant technical experts to develop content and video scripting that conveys the IRC’s nutrition expertise and policy priorities to policymakers and donors in a clear and compelling manner. - Create accurate, unique, and compelling creative assets to advance the IRC’s nutrition advocacy goals.

Deliverables:

- In consultation with the Health Communications Specialist, conceive of and create a suite of communications and advocacy assets (primarily for policymaker and donor audiences), including but not limited to:

- An animated video depicting the current malnutrition treatment system in comparison to the IRC-supported simplified approaches. - A one-pager companion to the video that outlines the comparison. - A series of 30-second animated videos, designed for social media use, that explain the benefits of the simplified protocol, MUAC admission standard, and CHW delivery of acute malnutrition treatment. - A short video showcasing the problem of acute malnutrition in children and the IRC’s efforts to provide lifesaving care to children worldwide.

Qualifications

Requirements:

- The consultant can be an individual or organization with video production and design expertise. - The consultant should have experience in issue advocacy, with a preference for global health, and with engaging global audiences. - The consultant should be comfortable partnering with the hiring manager to identify, develop, and create clear, compelling, and creative communications and advocacy assets. - The consultant should be able to complete and deliver the outlined work by the end of March 2022.
