Duties and Responsibilities

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UN Environment's mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UN Environment Programme’s Communications Division communicates UNEP’s core messages to all stakeholders and partners, raising environmental awareness and enhancing the profile of UNEP worldwide. The UN Environment Programme is seeking a highly motivated and talented Video Producer to support the development and production of a wide range of multimedia content for the organization. Under the supervision of the Head of Multimedia, the Video Producer will perform the following duties: 1. Photography for official events, meetings, bilateral meetings and headshots as required: a. Capture high-quality photographs during official events, conferences, and bilateral meetings. b. Ensure timely delivery of edited photographs to the Communication Division for dissemination on the DAM, Flickr and other channels as required c. Adhere to the established UNEP branding and visual guidelines in all photographs taken. 2. Video production collaboration and support a. Resize and reversion video products for Campaigns and Divisional service orders b. Manage translation process and add captions to video exports to achieve UNEP’s accessibility and multilingual mandates 3. Video message recording for the Executive Office: a. Record video messages from the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director for various purposes, including announcements, campaigns, and special events. b. Script preparation and ensure the necessary equipment is set up for recording. c. Edit video messages as required, including adding subtitles or captions. 4. File management a. Manage the upload of multimedia files to UNEP's YouTube account, Dropbox, Flickr and Digital Asset Management System (DAM) b. Organize and maintain a structured filing system for easy retrieval and reference of multimedia files. c. Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and metadata entry for all files. 5. Executive Office Support

Qualifications/special skills

High School Diploma is required. Training in Video production, media studies or another relevant field is required. At least seven years of experience working in multimedia production, film making and/or video for high-quality platforms. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and other Creative Suite software is required Prior experience shooting video and still photography on DSLR cameras and audio recording experience is desirable. Familiarity with 360 films and short-form video productions for social media use is desirable Prior experience in the international arena, familiarity with the work of the UN is desirable.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in written and oral English is required.
