Contract
This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.
Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the RBM and Communication Analyst, the National UN Volunteer Video Producer will:
- Video and infographic video production, video editing and infographic scriptwriting
- Conceptualize and produce videos or animated videos including short news features, documentary films, public service announcements, video messages and internal UNDP films, in line with UNDP editorial and visual guidelines;
- Filming (shooting and interviews) and editing (including adding narration and music and titles – texts and graphics on screen) with professional video equipment (with consideration for professional sound and lighting);
- Assist in storytelling, drafting and editing the scripts of the videos:
- Synthesize complex and technical information from various sources into jargon-free content for different audiences;
- Produce clear, concise and engaging materials that convey key UNDP messages to target audiences;
- Support the maintenance and constant update of the UNDP’s website and social media channels with video materials;
- Adapt the design and layout of visual materials to UNDP’s editorial and visual guidelines;
- Support the preparation of UNDP public events, such as UN/UNDP Observance Days, SDG and Climate Change events, missions, launching ceremonies, field visits, workshops, and global UNDP initiatives;
- Filming and support the streaming and live streaming of UNDP’s activities in the internet;
- Undertakes any other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
University degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia, Marketing and Publicity, Video Production, Digital Media, or related areas.
Required experience:
12 Months
Experience remark:
- Demonstrated working experience in video production and editing (minimum 1 year);
- Interest and/or experience in photography, photojournalism, reporting, storytelling (minimum 1 year);
Language skills:
- Portuguese(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- English(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge
Area of expertise:
Arts, music, photography and film, Other communications related experience
Area of expertise details:
- Knowledge of working on Adobe Creative, including videos editor software;
- Motivated to contribute towards peace and development and to serve others;
- Good interpersonal, networking and communication skills;
- Willingness to contribute and work as part of a team;
- Flexible and open to learning and new experiences;
- Respect for diversity and adaptability to other cultures, environments and living conditions;
- Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded.
