Org. Setting and Reporting -Supervisor and Technical Guidance received: The incumbent of this post reports to the Vehicle Maintenance Supervisor and coordinates daily tasks with the Vehicle Control Assistant or Dispatchers, as applicable, in the Area where he/she is assigned. - Supervisees and Technical Guidance provided: The incumbent does not have other staff to supervise, though he/she monitors maintenance works performed by contracted garages to ensure that they are accomplished in accordance with agreed upon terms and conditions of approved contracts and in line with quality standards.

Responsibilities The incumbent: -Regularly inspects each vehicle in the Area fleet pool and schedules regular maintenance and repair with the contracted garages, in coordination with the supervisor and concerned staff as applicable; -Drives vehicles or arranges cost effective towing schemes; ensures vehicles arrive at contracted garages and back to the Area fleet pool when the work is completed in a satisfactory and efficient manner; -Hands over, discusses and agrees with the contracted garages on focal points required maintenance works; ensures an accurate job card is created and filled; ensures the cost of spare parts used is as per contract prices and collects a copy of the job card / pro-forma invoice for further actions as required; -Checks if additional maintenance work is needed, even if not included in the contracts; requests cost estimates and seeks appropriate approvals; follows up on implementation; -Examines thoroughly the work done on vehicles by contracted garages and checks that the final invoices match approved work and costs; -Reports regularly on the maintenance works for each vehicle in the Area, including their overall condition and roadworthiness, including abnormal damage discovered in vehicles inspected or repaired; -Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

Education- Successful completion of full preparatory education; - Successful completion of a full-time course of at least two durations in automotive repair.

Work Experience At least four years of experience required in automotive repairs covering petrol and/or diesel engines, using modern garage tools and equipment, with the ability to understand and use workshop manuals and spare parts catalogues

Languages Good working knowledge of Arabic and English.

* Conditions of service -Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment - Duration of Contract: 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need. Monthly basic salary USD931.30, payable in JD at UN monthly exchange rate.
