Overview

Establish and implement emergency preparedness and response plans

You have:

  • Advanced University degree in social sciences, public administration, international law, public health, nutrition, international relations, business administration or related disciplines.
  • Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in programme/project development, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and administration.
  • Experience in developing countries, working in emergency settings and early recovery is an asset.
  • Fluency in French and English is required.

Contract

This is a P-3 contract. This kind of contract is known as Professional and Director staff. It is normally internationally recruited only. It's a staff contract. It usually requires 5 years of experience, depending on education.

Salary

The salary for this job should be between 105,628 USD and 138,312 USD.

Salary for a P-3 contract in Bujumbura

The international rate of 74,649 USD, with an additional 41.5% (post adjustment) at this the location, applies. Please note that depending on the location, a higher post adjustment might still result in a lower purchasing power.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Representative, establishes and implements country office emergency preparedness and response. Responsible for the development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the emergency interventions to ensure the survival and well-being of children and mothers, and the affected communities in an emergency situation.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Advanced University degree in one of the following fields: social sciences, public administration, international law, public health, nutrition, international relations, business administration or other related disciplines. Preferably a combination of management, administration, and relevant technical fields.
  • Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and international levels in programme/project development, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and administration.
  • Developing country work experience, working in emergency setting and early recovery is an asset as well as resilience knowledge.
  • Fluency in French and English is required.
