You have:

- Three years of experience in digital/interactive design with strong portfolio of UX/UI design.
- Two years experience in developing Information Architectures in a clear and logical way.
- Two years experience in using Adobe XD, Figma, InVision and other wireframing and prototyping tools.
- Good written and spoken English. Working knowledge of Spanish or French is an asset.

Background
The Bureau of External Relations and Advocacy (BERA) leads and supports the organization in cultivating, building and nurturing strategic relationships and alliances that are essential for advancing and successfully achieving the mission of UNDP. Within BERA, the Communications Group leads and manages external communications through strategy, media, digital communications, marketing, branding and global storytelling. The Digital Communications Studio within the Communications Group is responsible for implementing digital communications strategies globally; managing and maintaining UNDP’s multi-lingual corporate web sites; developing multimedia and social media approaches, products, services, and platforms, including mobile; and advising and training personnel on industry standards and practices.
The UX/UI Designer is part of the Digital Communications Studio. Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Team Manager, he/she will contribute to the creative advancement of UNDP’s global network of websites by designing and improving the visual, UX and IA aspects of UNDP’s corporate web properties, pushing forward it’s digital transformation efforts.
He/she will work with designers, business managers, content specialists and technologists to iteratively update and optimize the UX and UI of existing websites, as well as design new web products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the revamp of UNDP’s corporate websites including information architecture new design and UX, usability testing;
- Iteratively optimize the navigational systems and templates of UNDP’s external websites;
- Iteratively refine visual elements on UNDP’s external websites to optimize user experience for key audiences;
- Support the implementation and maintenance of a design system to be used by UNDP offices and partners;
- Work with teams of project managers, editors, designers, developers and production specialists on multiple web projects;
- Provide advice and recommendations on best practices, standards and tools in digital design and UX;
- Communicate design approaches to a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
DELIVERABLES / DURATION / Percentage of work:
Deliverable 1 - Produce visual representation of pages and components needed for migration of UNDP’s corporate websites: 3 Months / 30%
Deliverable 2 - Document behavior and functional specifications for components within UNDP’s design system so that designers, engineers, project managers and editors create a consistent experience across our digital footprint: 1 Month / 20%
Deliverable 3 - Create new components for UNDP’s design system using an atomic design approach based on the emerging needs of corporate websites: 3 Months / 30%
Deliverable 4 - Map user flows for key interactions within UNDP’s corporate web system. Work with designers and engineers to implement design changes to be made as a result of the user flows: 2 Months / 20%

- Experience designing for groups of people (international audiences, multi-language localization, accessibility for people with disabilities, etc.)
- Some knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in design, fine arts or related fields.
Experience:
- Three years of experience in digital/interactive design with strong portfolio of UX/UI design;
- Two years experience in developing Information Architectures (e.g. site mapping, gap analysis, IA design strategy, wire-framing) in a clear and logical way;
- Two years experience in using Adobe XD, Figma, InVision and other wireframing and prototyping tools;
- Experience working with design systems is an asset;
- Knowledge of standards for web accessibility.
Languages:
Good written and spoken English. Working knowledge of Spanish or French is an asset.

Evaluation Process:
Applicants are reviewed based on Required Skills and Experience stated above and based on the technical evaluation criteria outlined below. Applicants will be evaluated based on cumulative scoring. When using this weighted scoring method, the award of the contract will be made to the individual consultant whose offer has been evaluated and determined as:
- Being responsive/compliant/acceptable; and
- Having received the highest score out of a pre-determined set of weighted technical and financial criteria specific to the solicitation where technical criteria weighs 70% and financial criteria/ proposal weighs 30%.

Only the top 3 to 5 candidates with a minimum score of 49 points in technical evaluation (Criteria A to D) will be invited for the last step: financial evaluation.
Financial evaluation - Total 30 points
The following formula will be used to evaluate financial proposal:
- p = y (µ/z), where
- p = points for the financial proposal being evaluated
- y = maximum number of points for the financial proposal
- µ = price of the lowest priced proposal
- z = price of the proposal being evaluated
Shortlisted candidates (ONLY) will be requested to submit a Financial Proposal.
- The financial proposal should specify an all-inclusive fee for each deliverable. (based on a 8-hour working day with 1-hour lunch included - and estimated 21.75 days per month).
- The financial proposal must be all-inclusive and take into account various expenses that will be incurred during the contract, including: the daily professional fee; cost of travel from the home base to the duty station and vice versa, where required; living allowances at the duty station; communications, utilities and consumables; life, health and any other insurance; risks and inconveniences related to work under hardship and hazardous conditions (e.g., personal security needs, etc.), when applicable; and any other relevant expenses related to the performance of services under the contract.
- In the case of unforeseeable travel requested by UNDP, payment of travel costs including tickets, lodging and terminal expenses should be agreed upon, between UNDP and Individual Consultant, prior to travel and will be reimbursed. In general, UNDP should not accept travel costs exceeding those of an economy class ticket. Should the IC wish to travel on a higher class he/she should do so using their own resources.
- If the Offeror is employed by an organization/company/institution, and he/she expects his/her employer to charge a management fee in the process of releasing him/her to UNDP under a Reimbursable Loan Agreement (RLA), the Offeror must indicate at this point, and ensure that all such costs are duly incorporated in the financial proposal submitted to UNDP.
- The Financial Proposal is to be emailed as per the instruction in the separate email that will be sent to shortlisted candidates.
Contract Award:
Candidate obtaining the highest combined scores in the combined score of Technical and Financial evaluation will be considered technically qualified and will be offered to enter into contract with UNDP.
Institutional arrangement:
The consultant will work under the guidance and direct supervision of Digital Team Manager and will be responsible for the fulfilment of the deliverables as specified above.
Payment modality:
Payment to the Individual Contractor will be made based on the actual work completed against each of the deliverables. Deliverables will be reviewed, accepted and certified by the Manager.
