The Online Volunteer will assess the quality of the current UX design of UNDP's E-learning platform Learning for Nature, and will propose improvements based on the latest EX/UI trends. These recommendations will help ensure quality user experience on the site, making the platform more accessible for a global, diverse, and multi-lingual site audience. Specifically, the task will be divided into three stages: - Stage 1: Analysis (1 week). The Online Volunteer (OV) will do a detailed review of the site's menu and course rooms, taking notes of the UX features that need to be improved. - Stage 2: Recommendations (1 week). The OV will compile a Google document with specific recommendations for the website specialist on changes to be made in line with the latest trends, including visual examples. UNDP will provide a template for the OV to fill out. - Stage 3: Final assessment (1 week). Once the changes are made, the OV will evaluate if additional UX improvements are recommended.

Learning for Nature is a premier e-learning programme by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). This programme connects biodiversity policymakers, change-makers, and on-the-ground subject matter experts to facilitate the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Learning for Nature offers capacity-building opportunities for scaling up efforts for nature-based sustainable development through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), webinars, self-paced e-learning modules, and private training courses. To ensure the highest quality learning experience, the Learning for Nature team will be enhancing the user experience design in 2021. Using the knowledge of the latest UX features and trends, the selected OV will share recommendations that will be implemented by the Learning for Nature web specialists. These improvements will help to make the platform more accessible and inclusive for users worldwide. Enhanced UX design is expected to increase learner enrollment and retention, allowing the programme to serve an increased number of users and better promote the achievement of SDG 4: ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education.
