Job Description

The Purpose of the Role

The Senior Community Engagement Officer will serve as a navigator for new arrivals and people already living in Greece from Ukraine before the crisis with the goal of providing accurate information using when relevant inputs from the Refugee.Info Greece website/Facebook page and the knowhow of Livelihoods program in Athens and referral sources to support refugees in attaining self-reliance. They will be the main point of contact for refugee clients or community representatives of said communities, sharing with them essential information for their integration in Greece and access to services. Additionally, through the coordination and close liaising with community representatives of Ukrainian communities in Greece unforeseen or upcoming needs of this population will have to be shared with the IRC Hellas leadership to inform design of IRC Hellas programs.

Key Accountabilities

- Facilitate Orientation for newcomers, group info sessions on everyday life in Greece for new arrivals from Ukraine; Relevant information shared by the Greek Government and the Ministry of Asylum and Migration to be also shared with the new arrivals; - Monitoring of developments in the reception and integration policies of Greece for Ukrainian nationals to inform content of info sessions and information service delivery; - Communities outreach and needs assessment mapping on an ongoing basis with the various Ukrainian communities in Greece; - Co-facilitation of info sessions with Livelihoods focal point; - Regularly pitch ideas for new content and content updates to Editorial Manager of Refugee.Info; - Participate in all editorial team meetings, workshops, strategy sessions, regular communications, etc., as established by the Refugee.Info Editorial and Communications Manager and the Refugee.Info Program Manager; - Research, identify and outreach to services and resources that enable clients to meet their short and long-term goals and facilitate external referrals; - Effectively collaborate and develop relationships with external partner organisations such as, local or international NGOs, government service providers and diaspora groups, including attending coordination meetings responding to the needs of Ukrainian arrivals; - Regularly gather client and partner feedback in order to assess programming needs and responsiveness through focus groups, key informants, surveys, etc. - Assist with project logistics, such as setting up the training rooms or events, preparing participant materials.

Qualifications

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

- Ukrainian language fluency and or English/Greek. Additional capacity of Russian will be considered a plus; - Minimum two years related professional experience working with refugees, migrants or other vulnerable populations; - Protection programming understanding will be considered a plus; - Familiarity with the Greek context will be considered a plus; - Needs assessment previous experience will be considered a plus; - Excellent written and oral communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, partners and clients in English/Greek and Ukrainian and/or Russian language; - The ability to conduct workshops and learning activities in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual setting; - Solid diplomatic and networking skills: the ability to effectively manage a variety of internal and external relationships; - Ability to handle confidential documents and sensitive information; - Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, experience leading meetings or trainings via online platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype; - Solid organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines; - Ability to work as part of a team; - Ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area; - Right to work in Greece
