You have:
- At least a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Social Sciences, Law, Business Administration or another relevant field.
- Minimum of 24 months of professional work experience in development programmes or volunteer management support.
- Fluent in English and Russian.
- Experience in building partnerships with stakeholders including NGOs and local authorities.
- Good communication and public speaking skills.
Contract
This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.
Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the UNV Country Coordinator, the UNV Programme Support Officer will be assisting in programmatic and operations tasks aiming at supporting the UNV country presence and include the following responsibilities:
- Assist in leading UNVs’ field efforts in the country, ensuring key results and delivery of the Strategic Framework and the Sustainable Development Goals;
- Support in establishing, fostering and maintaining effective outreach and relationships with government, UN agencies, NGOs, the private sector and other relevant development partners;
- Support in establishing, fostering and maintaining effective outreach and relationships with local civil society organizations, prioritizing those focused on volunteerism, to contribute to community-led sustainable development in the country;
- Encourage national and local actors to establish a framework on volunteer infrastructure that supports volunteerism for peace and development, including the adoption of relevant policies and legislation;
- Assist in strengthening and determing business intelligence related to partnerships, promotion of volunteerism and shaping and delivering volunteer infrastructure advisory services and conduct country scans as input for corporate planning processes;
- In close coordination with the UNV Country Coordinator and Regional Communications Specialist, prepare, disseminate and present country-specific promotional information on the mandate and work of UNV with relevant development partners and the media;
- Support in coordination activities and plan events, in collaboration with other agencies, for annual, national and UN-recognized international celebrations, including the International Volunteer Day (IVD);
- Encourage and monitor serving UN Volunteers to embrace the ideals of volunteerism, act as advocates for volunteer action, and document their experiences in promoting volunteerism;
- Support in ensuring effective volunteer-related support;
- Provide administrative support in updating and maintaining a UN Volutneers’ files and data bases;
- Provide administrative support for the recruitment of local UNV candidates who are deployed to other countries;
- Back up support in performing relevant VMAM roles;
- Support in promoting Online Volunteering platform and guiding on registration steps
- Draft and type correspondence, including memoranda and notes for the file;
- Maintain general office files and keep information and reference material in a manner that allows easy reference and retrieval;
- Prepare UNV packages for the orientation training (contracts, Conditions of Service, Annexes, Medical Insurance Card);
- Perform other administrative duties as may be required.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent

Required experience:
24 Months
Experience remark:
- At least 2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in development programmes, volunteers management support or other relevant programmes;
- Experience in building partnerships with various stakeholders, including NGOs, local authorities and private sector partners,
- Experience in managing, guiding and motivating team members;
- Experience in report writing, monitoring and evaluation of projects;
- Previous experience working with the UN funded projects desirable;
- Good communication and public speaking skills;
