Duties and Responsibilities Background

The United Nations Resident Coordinator Office supports the work of the UN Resident Coordinator (RC) in leading the UN country team in consultations with the Government to define and agree on the UN strategic response to the Government's development priorities. The office coordinates activities related to common programming including Agenda 2030, joint programmes, joint programming activities and development coordination work. This is done in conformity with the objectives and priorities of the Government, and the mandates and objectives of the United Nations agencies.

The UN Resident Coordinator's Office in The Gambia is seeking the services of a Consultant to provide support to the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation process. The consultant will report to the head of RCO.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Head of RCO, the consultant will support RC office performing a variety of standard administrative processes ensuring high quality and accuracy of work in the development of the Cooperation Framework. The Consultant will promote a client, quality and results-oriented approach. They will work in close collaboration with the RCO Staff and other UN agencies' staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities 1. Facilitate the development of the CF funding framework 2. Development of TORs for the CF governance structures 3. Training on UNINFO reporting 4. Facilitate the data collection and completion of the IMS survey in UNINFO 5. Conduct 2024 government budget analysis for the UNCT

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in economics, development policy, sustainable development. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in providing strategic support to economic research and analysis, in the context of development cooperation or related area is required. Working experience in The Gambia is required. Experience coordinating UN inter-agency groups is desirable. Experience coordinating UNINFO reporting and provide technical assistance to UN agencies is required. Experience working on the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) is required. Experience working on the new generation UN Common Country Analysis is required. Experience working with both the government and UN is required.

Languages Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required
