UNICEF Zimbabwe is seeking to hire an innovative individual consultant to carry out Consultancy Communication Donor Relations

PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

The individual consultant will - under the coordination of the Chief of Communication – develop and roll-out a set of communication and advocacy plans with the current and future strategic donors of UNICEF Zimbabwe, as part of the roll-out of the resource mobilisation strategy of UNICEF Zimbabwe and with the aim to strengthen a long-term relationship between UNICEF Zimbabwe and its strategic donors.

BACKGROUND:

UNICEF Zimbabwe has developed a resource mobilisation strategy. As part of the strategy UNICEF Zimbabwe envisages to build strong partnerships with its current and future strategic donors including through the set up and roll-out of jointly agreed communication and advocacy plans covering visibility objectives well as well joint advocacy initiatives.

ASSIGNMENTS:

Under the supervision of the Chief Communications, and in close collaboration with the Partnerships & Resource Mobilisation Specialist, the individual consultant will manage the following key areas and tasks:

  1. Identify the current and future strategic donors to focus the communication and advocacy work on
  2. Identify in coordination with the respective programme sections the advocacy campaigns and initiatives that can be rolled out jointly with a donor and identify which donor can be linked to which advocacy issue
  3. Draft communication and advocacy plans for 2023-2024 for the current and future strategic donors, Draft specific communication, visibility and advocacy plans for the Pooled Funds, including the Health Relief Fund and the Education Pooled Fund, and other new donor funded programmes
  4. Finalize the communication and advocacy plans for 2023-2024 jointly with the respective donors
  5. Start implementation of the communication and advocacy plans for the Pooled Funds, including the Health Relief Fund and the Education Pooled Fund, and other new donor funded programmes
  6. Ensure the start of the roll out of the specific donor communication and advocacy plans in Q1 2023

Coordinate all communication, visibility and advocacy work done with/for donors, in coordination with the communication team

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
