Finance provides essential support to UNICEF Ethiopia's programme and operational activities in financial planning, disbursements of funds and payments, treasury and accounting, financial analysis and reporting of resources. In this context, the Finance intern will support the team in financial recording, disbursements of funds and payments, and financial reporting of resources. The Finance intern will assist the team to meet and comply with UNICEF financial and programmatic policies, procedures, guidelines, standards of performance, ethics, and integrity.

How can you make a difference?

Based in Addis Ababa, the Finance intern will undertake the following tasks:

  • Provide support to organize meetings and participate in relevant meetings to take meeting notes and action points.
  • Prepare finance related outgoing letters.
  • Assist the Finance team in preparation of periodic reports.
  • Submit relevant documents to the bank and collect bank slips.
  • Maintain files including bank documents, outgoing letters, financial records, agreements, and other documents.
  • Keep filing systems in which documents could be readily available and easily traced.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Enrolled at a university in Ethiopia at the undergraduate or graduate level or a recent graduate (within the past two years) in Accounting/Finance or a related field is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications; excellent knowledge of MS Office is required.
  • Fluency in English is required.
