Result of Service A consultant’s is required for supporting the Global Environment Facility (GEF) portfolio of Climate Change Mitigation projects for Indonesia, ongoing ADLIGHT project and recent approved GEF 8 proposal under Net Zero Nature Positive (NZNP) Integrated Programme . The consultant will provide technical support to ADLIGHT Project and also development of CEO Endorsement Document for the NZNP IP Project.

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. This consultancy is in UNEP’s Industry and Economy Division, Energy and Climate Branch, Climate Change Mitigation Unit, and will be home based.

UNEP’s Economy Division works with a portfolio of Global Environment Facility (GEF) medium-size and full-size climate change mitigation projects. A consultant's is required for the Global Environment Facility (GEF) portfolio of Climate Change Mitigation projects of Asia regional portfolio and will report to the Task Manager for the GEF Asia Pacific Portfolio. The consultant will undertake technical reviews of project development and implementation in the areas of electric mobility, energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainable cities. The Consultant will also undertake analysis to develop GEF 8 strategy for the Asia region.

Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

1. ADLIGHT PROJECT ¿ Project oversight provided to ensure that GEF policies and criteria are adhered to. ¿ Project meets its objectives and achieves expected outcomes in an efficient and effective manner. ¿ Project Monitoring and Evaluation are effectively carried out. ¿ Potentially changes to the project are agreed and recorded as per the procedures. ¿ Reporting requirements of project is timely done and with good quality. ¿ Project outputs are reviewed and inputs provided for finalization. ¿ Terminal Evaluation report is completed and finalized ¿ Access to information, advisory services, technical and professional support available to UNEP and assist the Executing Agency to access the advisory services of other United Nations Organizations, whenever necessary, provided

2. NZNP CEO Endorsement Document ¿ Inputs and coordination with various partners facilitated in preparing CEO Endorsement Document. ¿ Inputs and review from various UNEP units facilitated for finalizing the inputs to CEO Endorsement Document.

Qualifications/special skills Advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Economic, or in a related field. 5 years of experience in working in energy efficiency and sustainable energy required Substantive experience of working on energy efficiency of appliances and industrial energy efficiency required. Substantive experience of working energy efficiency projects in Indonesia required Experience in working with the Global Environment Facility (GEF) or a similar fund is required. Good contacts in key institutions, especially government ministries is required Knowledge and experience in working with government and private sector in Indonesia desirable Experience in working with developing countries and/or international organizations is desirable Ability and willingness to travel at short notice

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this consultancy, fluency in oral and written English and Bahasa is required.
