Overview

  • At least 9 months in resource management, including experience in applying UNFC is desirable.

Result of Service

• Organize and coordinate bilateral meetings with EU Member State representatives on UNFC • Support for the organization and coordination of webinars and seminars on UNFC, including during the EU Raw Materials Week in Brussels, the UNECE Resource Management Week 2026 and Trainings on UNFC for Project Promoters. • Support for further development of Knowledge Hub on UNFC and UNRMS. • Support provided to maintain the mailing list for the E429 Project and EGRM. • Support drafting the annual report for the E429 Project.

Duties and Responsibilities

The UNECE Expert Group on Resource Management (EGRM) is responsible for the development and implementation of the United Nations Classification for Resources (UNFC) and the United Nations Resource Management System (UNRMS) which is based on UNFC. UNECE has an extrabudgetary project “Supporting UNECE in the development and implementation of the United Nations Framework Classification for Resources (UNFC) and the United Nations Resource Management System (UNRMS)” (E429) funded by the European Commission. This project includes a Communication and Visibility Plan to ensure visibility and dissemination of the project’s progress and to trigger input by experts, the participation of stakeholders and uptake of UNFC and UNRMS by users. The individual contractor is engaged to support the Secretariat in activities related to the project, including capacity-building in EU Member States on work related to application of UNFC as integrated in the EU Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA). Support is also needed to engage with CRMA strategic partnership countries in Latin America for which Spanish is needed. As one of the deliverables under the Project, a Knowledge Hub on UNFC and UNRMS continues to be developed on the UNECE website for which material needs to be prepared and cross-checked. • The work includes, but is not limited to, preparing material to update the Knowledge Hub for UNFC and UNRMS, as well as to prepare, participate in and follow-up up on bilateral meetings with EU country experts and help to organize webinars and seminars on UNFC, including speaker coordination, logistics, and documentation. Duties and Responsibilities: • Support the organization and coordination of bilateral meetings with EU Member State representatives on UNFC, as well as with CRMA strategic partnership countries in Latin America • Support the organization and coordination of webinars and seminars on UNFC, including during the EU Raw Materials Week in Brussels (18-21 November 2025), the UNECE Resource Management Week 2026 (Geneva, 27 April-1 May 2026) and Trainings on UNFC for Project Promoters • Support the further development of the Knowledge Hub on UNFC and UNRMS • Update the mailing list for the E429 project and EGRM • Support in drafting the annual report for the Project which needs to be finalized in 2025.

Qualifications/special skills

First degree in global studies, international relations is required. At least three years in administration and logistics including meeting coordination, and communications. At least 9 months in resource management, including experience in applying UNFC is desirable. Knowledge of UNECE’s Contacts Database and knowledge of resource management.

Languages

Fluency in English is required. Good knowledge of French and Spanish is desirable.
