Under the overall authority and guidance of the Director and Representative of the UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa, and in close cooperation with Unit Heads and Country Focal Points the incumbent shall coordinate UNESCO participation, reporting and ensure visibility in UNCTs across the 9 Member states. Long Description ---------------- The program officer will support the be expected to perform the following functions: • Support the conceptualizing and development of UNESCO Country Strategy (UCS) papers for each of the 9 ROSA countries and advise the Heads of Units on the best way to maximise UNESCO’s contribution to the UNCTs’ work. • Ensure that UNESCO contributes substantially to the UNCT’s strategic planning and programming processes including CCA and United National Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) including, resource mobilisation strategies as well as Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). • Provide UNESCO’s technical support and input towards the UNCT’s Business Operations Strategy Management and related actions. • Provide support in the coordination, monitoring and reporting of UNCT results, by participating in relevant Inter-Agency Working and results groups related to the UNSDCF. • Support and contribute to UNCT Annual Panning and Reporting. • Support and participate in UNCT Joint Advocacy and communications initiatives. • Working with key UNESCO staff, ensure that UNESCO is represented in all Results Groups and Thematic Working Groups.
