Provide comprehensive medical services for UN staff in Sudan during COVID-19.
You have:
- Master degree or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from a recognized University required.
- Post graduate studies in the Speciality of Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine required.
- At least 5 years of professional work experience in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine required.
- Experience with Management of COVID Patients is an asset.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
- Fluency in Arabic is mandatory.
- Completion of BLS, ALS and PHTLS is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written skills required.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team required.
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing required.
Contract
This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.
Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Description of task
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of UN Clinic Health Manger or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the NUNV Physician will:
- Provide Medical Services to the UN Staff Members throughout Sudan in relation to COVID-19 Pandemic.
- The UN Physician will be responsible of Suspected/Confirmed Cases of COVID, to visit them at home to assess the Clinical Condition and to admit to the Hospital when needed.
- Identify COVID Isolation Center and create strong relationship with these Centres.
- Follow up of patients at their homes and in the hospital, monitor the treatment plan till discharge.
- Facilitate Medical Evacuation when needed.
- Ensure that all Equipment, Oxygen Cylinders and Medications are ready to deal with Emergencies.
- Carry out field Visits when needed.
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Master degree or equivalent

- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine from a recognized University. Post graduate studies in the Speciality of Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Required experience:
60 Months
Experience remark:
- At least 5 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine, or Intensive Care Medicine. Experience with Management of COVID Patients is an asset, as is experience working in the UN. or other international development organization.

- Have affinity with or interest in provision of Medical Services volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
