Overview

Provide efficient coordination support to UN Country Team in Iran

You have:

  • Master’s degree in International relations, Law, Humanities, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences or related area.
  • A Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience is acceptable in lieu of a Master’s degree.
  • At least one year experience in sustainable development, international relations or communication is required.
  • Fluency in English and Persian is required; knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of UN and related procedures, principles and terminologies is an advantage.

Work Location Tehran

Expected duration Start date of this consultancy is 20 Feb 2022 and end date is 19 Feb 2023.

This consultancy will be paid at a base rate of 1000USD per month with a higher payment per year if the candidate has relevant professional experience. Total payment will not exceed 6250 USD

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Assist in the organization of the UN Country Team and Crisis Management Team meetings, coordination of the UNCT related events, surveys and scorecards. 2. Support formulation of the new UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for Iran and its effective implementation. 3. Provide coordination support to inter-agency working groups and UNSDCF Results Groups. 4. Provide assistance to the UNCT reporting processes, including through IMS and UNINFO. 5. Support maintenance and regular updating of the CCA Data Repository, UNSDCF IPs Database, NRAs contact list and Post Report for Iran. 6. Undertake informal translation of documents from English to Farsi and vice-versa. 7. Assist the UN Resident Coordinator and the Resident Coordinator's office on other tasks as requested.

Qualifications/special skills Competency: Knowledge of UN and related procedures, principles and terminologies is an advantage. Academic Qualifications: Master’s degree in one of the following fields: International relations, Law, Humanities, Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences or related area. A Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience is acceptable in lieu of a Master’s degree. Experience: At least one year experience in sustainable development, international relations or communication is required. Experience in organizing and providing support for senior level meetings and missions is required. Language: Fluency in English and Persian is required; knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage.
