How can you make a difference?

The work will be delivered in accordance with more detailed monthly work plans agreed between the contractor and the supervisor at the beginning of every month. Monthly reports will be submitted at the end of each month. Each monthly report will include: an overview of the activities realized/progress, and outputs/draft documents as per the more detailed timeline agreed and as included under ‘deliverables’ for each specific task described below.

Support the implementation of U-Ambassadors programme and the overall promotion of U-Report

  • Support the implementation of U-Ambassadors programme to mobilize U-Reporters.
  • Oversee the implementation of U-Report promotional strategy developed by UNICEF including series of events and presentations throughout the year. The strategy includes external events which target young audiences where U-Report can be presented, as well as school and community events led by the U-Ambassadors.
  • Prepare regular updates and reports on the progress of the U-Ambassadors programme, including number of events and presentations held, and new U-Reporters recruited.
  • Work together with Communication section to develop U-Ambassadors stories and social media content.
  • Collaborate with ongoing youth initiatives and communication campaigns to increase number of U-Reporters and reach the target.

Planning and programming

  • Support the set-up and functioning of the U-Report Consultative Board, including preparing and sending invitations to selected organizations.
  • Organize regular Consultative Board meetings (once per month) to present U-Report results, discuss next polls and questions.
  • Manage monthly U-Report Poll Calendar in coordination with Consultative Board and Internal Task Force and share for approval with UNICEF Communication Officer (Digital & Innovation).
  • Ensure knowledge exchange and set up a system to ensure that the information collected via U-Report is available to the communication and programme sections to guide their activities.
  • Construct communication flows for polls in Rapid Pro in consultation with UNICEF Communication Officer (Digital and Innovation) and ICT Specialist.
  • Prepare U-Report poll questions in English based on inputs from Consultative Board and Internal Task Force, final versions to be translated in Macedonian and Albanian language.
  • Prepare and launch new U-Report polls at least twice per month.
  • Follow updates from the global U-Report community, UNICEF Regional Office and NYHQ.

Administrating digital resources: RapidPro and U-Report website

  • RapidPro: managing flows, triggers, contacts and campaigns, exporting data for analytics.
  • RapidPro: clearing and systematizing database on regular basis; regular gathering additional data from U-Reporters where missing (age, gender, region, etc).
  • Manage U-Report North Macedonia website (manage poll results, update youth stories) and U-Report Viber account to maintain user engagement with regular content.
  • Manage technical issues on the U-Report platform in communication with global service provider and UNICEF ICT Specialist.
  • Identify any challenges within the U-Report operational structure that can allow data integrity to be compromised.

Analytics and reporting

  • Prepare digest updates and reports with extensive data to share with partners and decision makers.
  • Prepare two-pager analytical notes for each poll in an agreed template and designed form. Display trends through data analysis and reports.
  • Ensure that U-Report sampling methodology is in accordance with programmatic requirements in coordination with UNICEF Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist.
  • Provide additional updates and data analysis as required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the work and ensure U-Report ethical considerations are in place in accordance with GDPR regulation.

Undertake any other tasks in this area assigned by the Supervisor.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • A first level university degree (Bachelor's) in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience.
  • An advanced university degree (Masters or higher) in Business, Economics, Social Sciences, Social Work, Youth Engagement, International Relations, or another relevant field, will be considered an advantage.

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required

  • At least 5 years of work experience in the relevant field (preferably different policy issues - design, evaluation, monitoring and evaluation, youth engagement, innovation, social innovation or entrepreneurship, communication, multi-stakeholder engagement including private sector, and managing relations with those stakeholders who support ecosystem engagement).
  • Experience in deploying digital platforms, tools and approaches.
  • Good analytical skills, writing and reporting.
  • Extensive experience with proven records in the preparation of polls and data analysis.
  • Excellent understanding of policy, institutional and legal frameworks in the Republic of North Macedonia.
  • Experience in working with national and international stakeholders (civil society, public administration, social partners, local organizations, etc.).
  • Knowledge of children's rights, gender issues, children's and youth participation is an advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of Macedonian and English, knowledge of Albanian language is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
