The volunteer will, to the best of their ability, competently and correctly translate the English version of the document into the Russian language. The document is used to promote the Office’s work for, and with, youth with the ultimate goal of contributing to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Youth are central to advancing the 2030 Agenda and this brochure explains this importance across UNODC’s programmatic work. The brochure will be made available online and in print formats, and is targeted toward the general public, particularly those unfamiliar with UNODC’s work. The text may contain some professional vocabulary in a small amount. The document is 11 pages long in A4 format.

We are looking for one (1) Online Volunteer to support us in translating the materials for the SDG brochure. To this end the Online Volunteers are asked: - To translate the document, which is 11 pages in A4 format long into the Russian language; - To translate some bullet points and recommendations in the document. - Ensure the translation is concise, in line with our communications guidelines, and is tailored to the audience (general public).

The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with the document in the original language and will receive guidance on the target audience and our communications guidelines as well as other guidance as needed.

The Online Volunteers will have the opportunity to build connections with the Strategic Planning and Inter-Agency Affairs Unit in Vienna, Austria and learn about how the translated product contributes to increasing people's awareness of youth mainstreaming.

Candidates should be fluent Russian and English. Familiarity with technical terms related to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development will be considered an advantage. Previous translation experience is considered an asset.
