To enable more entities and civil society organizations in China benefit from the Online Volunteering service, it is essential to make the basic information of this service easily accessible for Chinese audience.

In that regard and through this online assignment, the United Nations Volunteer (UNV) Regional Office for the Asia Pacific and UNV China Field Unit are seeking to collaborate with Online Volunteers to take part in this effort of promoting volunteerism and mobilizing volunteers from anywhere and anytime.

By joining this effort, candidates will gain experience of working with the UNV from their home and be more familiar with the UN system. At the end of the assignment, Online Volunteers will also be rewarded with certificate of appreciation.

We are seeking the support from 2 Online Volunteers, who under the guidance of the United Nations Volunteer (UNV) Regional Office for the Asia Pacific and UNV China Field Unit to: - Translate 4 guidelines on UNV Online Volunteering from English to Chinese (one of the guidelines that needs to be translated, for reference: https://unv.nickelled.com/create-a-new-online-description-of-assignment.html) - Incorporating the translated guides along with the visuals into a layout (PDF format)

The selected Online Volunteer for the translation support will be provided with the English version of the guidelines, and the template to capture the translated text. The Online Volunteer supporting the layout design will also be provided with the visuals that are already available that will be used to merge with the translated text and converted into PDF format.

Further guidance on the above tasks and workflow will be provided at the beginning of and during the assignment, as needed. The Online Volunteers will also be credited and acknowledged in the final product of the translated guidance.

Candidates should be native in Chinese and fluent in English. Familiarity with technical terms related to Volunteerism will be considered an advantage. Previous translation experience is considered an asset.
