You have:

The UNESCO Chair in PE, Sports, Recreation & Fitness is looking for 3 volunteers to help us transcribe 6 research interviews (up to 35 min each) with different stakeholders from the Republic of Mauritius (academia, policy makers, PE teachers, coaches, etc). On the interviews, facilitators and barriers to participation for people with disabilities is investigated. Also, the notion of human rights in and through sport is examined. The qualitative interviews were conducted in English and are digitally recorded. A draft transcribed will be provided but it needs to be edited. The communication with the UN Online Volunteer will be mainly via email. Skype call is also possible to clarify the task or answer specific questions. At the end of this volunteer service, the volunteer will receive feedback and an online volunteering certificate.

The UNESCO Chair ‘Transforming the lives of people with disabilities, their families and communities through physical education, sport, recreation and fitness’ at the Institute of Technology Tralee was charged with leading on three specific areas of the Kazan Action Plan namely I.7, II.4 and III.2 above. In this regard we need to expand from our core focus around disability to include multiple areas of potential discrimination or prejudice with the aim of mainstreaming these issues. For the purposes of mobilising intersectional inclusion through the actions described in this document we sought the cooperation and support of those charged with driving actions relating to I.5 and II.6 above, namely the International Working Group On Women And Sport and Women’s Sport International. On the interviews, the idoenity and relevance of some indicators related to the SDGs are explored with a view of capturing the impact of the SDGs in and through sport.
