Job Overview/Summary: The IRC is seeking a Training Officer, Emerging Technologies, for Switchboard, an Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR)-funded program. Switchboard is a one-stop resource hub for refugee service providers in the United States. Switchboard provides training and capacity-building services to ORR-funded refugee service providers in the United States, including resettlement agencies and affiliates, state agencies, ethnic community-based organizations, and others. The Training Officer, Emerging Technologies will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of capacity-building initiatives related to emerging technologies in resettlement and integration services. Focus areas will include digital inclusion, digital access, and the use of virtual reality and other emerging technologies.

Major Responsibilities:

Training and Technical Assistance

- Supervise and support two staff focused on development of learning opportunities and resources in the area of emerging technologies - Develop and deliver training related to emerging technologies: webinars, self-paced e-learning, online certificate courses, etc. - Provide consultation, guidance, and recommended resources in response to questions and technical assistance requests. - Lead development of relevant learning resources such as information guides, blog posts, podcasts, videos, etc.

Project Management

- Provide related inputs into development of Switchboard’s annual TTA workplan. - Ensure related trainings and learning resources are developed and delivered on time and on budget. - Manage external subject matter expert/consultant relationships and project plans as they contribute to development of related TTA.

Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)

- Track related TTA outputs and outcomes against targets (materials developed, trainings delivered, individuals participating, etc.) - Review and analyze feedback data from related TTA participants - Provide input into Switchboard reports, including monthly activity updates and semi-annual Performance Progress Reports. - Other duties as assigned.

Key Working Relationships:

Position Reports to: Deputy Director, Switchboard Position directly supervises: Program Manager, Digital Inclusion and Program Coordinator, Emerging Technologies

Indirect Reporting: N/A Other Internal and/or external contacts: Position requires close collaboration with a variety of colleagues, including but not limited to: the RAI Research, Analysis, and Learning team; the RAI Program Quality and Innovation Unit; other refugee service providers (resettlement agencies, affiliates, and others), state refugee programs, and external subject matter experts/consultants.

Working Environment: This position may be located in a standard office environment in New York, NY, or it may be located in a remote working environment. Required domestic travel 3-6 times per year.

Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (or equivalent experience)

Work Experience:

- Minimum 4 years of direct service experience with refugees and/or other ORR-eligible populations - Experience delivering programs and services focused on digital inclusion and emerging technologies - Experience providing training and technical assistance to build capacity of refugee service providers - Experience developing and delivering engaging remote trainings using webinar platforms such as Zoom - Experience contributing to project M&E (data collection, management, and reporting) - Preferred: experience managing external subject matter experts and/or consultants

Demonstrated Knowledge and Skills:

- Strong familiarity with relevant Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR)-funded programs - Familiarity with and commitment to data-driven, evidence-based programming - Excellent written and oral communication skills, with evidence of ability to build capacity of staff at multiple levels - Proven ability to effectively manage complex projects with strict timelines

Language Skills: Fluent in written and spoken English.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
