Overview

Develop training material and conduct training on national e-accessibility policy.

You have:

  • A high-level university degree in ICT, computer science, engineering or related field is needed, a Ph.D. is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience and research in the formulation of national ICT and/or ICT for development policies, national digital policies or a related field is required.
  • Experience in the field of e-accessibility and familiarity with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD) is desirable.
  • Previous experience in working with international organizations is a plus.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic is required, and good knowledge of another language is desired.

Result of Service- Development of training material; - Conducting the training during the TOT.

Expected duration the consultant will be contracted for a period of 8 weeks

Duties and Responsibilities The consultant for the assignment, subject of these ToR, will be entrusted with the following tasks: - Study the National e-accessibility policy template for the Arab region" in its final format after its editing and design and the interactive and easily accessible online tools by policy makers and interested users, developed by ESCWA to support policy makers in the Arab region., to identify the main content to be included in the training material. - Under the supervision of ESCWA ADIP team: - Design and develop of the TOT Training material focusing on the National e-accessibility policy template for the Arab region. The training material will be produced in 2 scenarios, one high level for the policy makers and the other will be dedicated to people working in the field and would like to draft their national policy and using ESCWA templates . - Research complementary material and resources (international, regional, and national) needed to enrich the training content by introducing examples, developing exercises, and discussing case studies. - Develop and deliver all materials needed for the ToT : 1. Training design and related sessions 2. Session outline: session objectives, training outcome, session topics, training methodology; 3. Presentations (in Power Point format, Arabic language) that cover all the content, these presentations should make use of different types of visual and animation tools, as well as any related enriching material such as videos, exercises, handout, .... - Implement the full ToT activity on National e-accessibility policy template for the Arab region" during two days, and use the suitable methodology for the ToT such as: brain storming, interactive talk, group discussion, role play exercise, etc. - Write and submit a comprehensive training report which includes also an analysis of the feedback from participants.
