Result of Service The Training Consultant will prepare the design and the implementation of the training course in close consultation with the senior consultant under the direct supervision of ESCWA regional advisor on Transport and Logistics.

a) Pre-designed Questionnaire to assess the awareness level of the police officers towards importance of seatbelt wearing and child restraints use, and their role in reducing the injuries pre and post the training. b) Report on the content of the lectures that will be delivered by the specialized personnel that cover the various parts of the course outline.

a) Timely deliverable of requested outputs b) Outputs delivered are of high quality

Duties and Responsibilities Background:

The project implies to conduct a Training of Trainers on Law Enforcement to increase the use of seatbelts and child restraints. Due to the sensitivity of training members of Jordanian Police, only a local consultant with long traditions of work with the Ministry of Interior can fit for this position.

Tasks:

The Training Consultant will namely be required to accomplish the following tasks in close consultation with the Senior Consultant under the direct supervision of ESCWA Regional Advisor on Transport and Logistics.

1. A 3-day course in Amman. 2. The main tasks include:

a) Meeting with top management of the public security directorate to promote the importance of the training course; b) Define the target population and set the objectives; c) Design and prepare training material; d) Implementation of the training course.

Qualifications/special skills A Masters degree in Road Safety Management or related area is required.

All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of Road Safety Management is required.

Languages Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA.

For this position, Fluency in Arabic is required; Knowledge of English is desirable.

Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.
