Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Centre for Learning and Multilingualism (CLM) within the Human Resources Management Service, United Nations Office at Geneva.

Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Senior Staff Development Assistant, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

- Contributes to the design, organization and delivery of training and development programmes for the enhancement of competencies and upgrading of staff technical skills and to meet mandate implementation. - Contributes to the design and orientation programmes which encompass a range of activities including, inter-alia, technical and substantive trainings, induction training, leadership and management. - Along with the Umoja Training coordinator, liaises with Umoja LPE trainers concerning logistics, coordinates with role-mapped staff members, administers the appropriate certificates. - Assists in the facilitation of specialized training programmes with the various functional and substantive areas that meet cross-cutting training needs such as HIV/AIDS awareness, Gender, etc., as applicable. - Collects and maintains statistical data on training activities and responds to queries and requests for information on training programmes. - Contributes to the preparation and monitoring of statistical reports. - Drafts routine and ad-hoc outputs and provides effective monitoring reports and data from database queries. - Supports Office staff in the creation and maintenance of application software using primarily Microsoft Office 365 technologies (i.e. SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive). - Provides general and technical support to the delivery of online language and IT programmes. - Develops and assists in the content management of the Centre for Learning and Multilingualism (CLM) website, including the automation of the language enrollment system. - Contributes to the development of systems and methods for disseminating information to staff members on training and staff development opportunities, including distance learning, self-study and other sources of learning. - Creates, develops, and maintains web applications programmatically for specific projects within the UN. - Performs any other duties as assigned.

Education Completion of secondary school or its equivalent commercial school.

Work Experience A minimum of five (5) years of experience in human resources management, administration or related area is required. Out of these, at least two (2) years within the United Nations common system is desirable. Experience in web content management is desirable. Experience in automation of services and producing reports using SQLqueries, Eloquent/Fluent ORM, related to language and training courses is desirable. Experience with Programming languages such as JavaScript (version ES6), specifically ReactJs, and Hypertext Processor (PHP 7.x) specifically Laravel Framework 5.4 and above is desirable. Experience with an ERP system such as Umoja, Inspira or similar is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
