Job Description

1. Using the project teacher training package and approaches, support Master trainers in building the professional skills of community teachers in subject knowledge, teaching methods and techniques for successful delivery of the community-based education. He/she will spend 80% of his/her work time in the field. 2. Monitor and evaluate students’ learning achievements; assist in the administration of the student learning achievement tests. 3. Support with delivering the training programs and preparing training materials under guidance of the Master trainers according to the program needs. 4. He/ she is responsible for clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of the trainings. 5. He/ she will schedule the trainings, coordinate with master trainers, obtain and distribute required training materials, check the attendance and obtain the required records from the training. 6. He/ she is responsible for entering data and preparing training report in coordination with the master teacher trainer. 7. Under the guidance of the master teacher trainer visit the CBE classrooms, observe teachers and their approaches and methods; give feedback after each visit to the teachers and make action plans for addressing issues identified during the visits. Keep proper written record of each visit. 8. Under the guidance of the master teacher trainer Provide regular in-classroom support to teachers to support them in practicing the learning gained from the trainings, create a friendly learning environment for students and overall teaching quality improvement. 9. Do other tasks instructed by his/ her supervisor.

Qualifications

1. At least grade 14 education from a TTC; Bachelor degree in the field of education will be desirable. 2. Two to three years of experience in the development and implementation of educational programs or teacher training. 3. Strong training skills, preferably for CBE teachers. 4. Knowledge of the value of education in Islam, major features of each stage of the child development and the current trends of education in Afghanistan. 5. Knowledge of the local community structure, dynamics and development. 6. Excellent oral and written communication skills in Pashto and Dari. 7. Ability to frequently travel to the program communities in the districts. This position requires travelling to the field on a daily basis. 8. Ability to frequently travel to the target communities in the targeted district.
