What we do

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Purpose

The purpose of the position will be to support the Enterprise Architecture Tool Modernization project.

Enterprise Architecture (EA) is the holistic representation of an enterprise, encompassing all its areas of activity, from strategy to business to resources, and the interrelationships between these elements. The purpose EA is to support:

  • Strategy-Business-Resource alignment
  • Complexity management and harmonization
  • Cost reduction and efficiency optimization
  • Decision-making and audit

Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities

You will be working closely with the project team as well as a working group. The working group consists of about 60 of our current and future EA tool users.

Your tasks will be to help with:

  • The definition of use case scenarios to be used in the tool evaluations
  • The validation and weighting of the use cases with the working group
  • The demos during which potential solutions will be evaluated and one will be selected
  • The definition of specifications and functional tests for the tool
  • Accompany the working group with the functional tests
