Overview

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the responsibility of the Chief of the Trade, Gender and Development Programme, the Consultant will provide support to the work programme on trade and gender.

The Consultant will be responsible for developing the pedagogical material for a new iteration of the online course on trade and gender as follows:

(1) Develop a new teaching module focusing on gender and trade regulations in the digital space. This will be based on existing analytical resources developed by UNCTAD, namely: (i) a study on NTMs through a gender lens; (ii) a study on NTMs in the digital space and their impact on women’s businesses in developing countries; (iii) a study on voluntary sustainability standards and gender).

(2) Develop two sets of script for the course, based respectively on: (i) an existing introductory module on trade and gender linkages; and (ii) on the new module developed under (1). This will constitute the basis of the multimedia lectures.

(3) Prepare a list of bibliographic resources to be included as optional material in the online course.

(4) Prepare the questions for the new course.
