How can you make a difference?

Under supervision of the Communication for Development (C4D) Officer, the consultants are required to oversee the implementation of community engagement activity for COVID-19 prevention and COVID-19 vaccine introduction in the community in 13 Municipalities. It requires regular monitoring and support to health care workers and mother support group members to implement the activities in their respective geographical area. Therefore, consultants are required to lead the activity in the Municipality.

Work Assignment

  1. Support Ministry of Health – Health Promotion at sub-national level to continue raising community awareness on COVID-19 vaccine introduction and engage community leaders and other stakeholders to support the implementation of COVID-19 vaccination at the community level.
  2. Work with DPHOs – Health Promotion to engage media to intensify promotion in the respective municipality
  3. Support community health centers’ health promotion corners activities’ in promoting COVID-19 vaccine introduction, COVID-19 prevention and routine services in the health care facilities and community levels
  4. Support community mobilization through engaging community health workers (i.e. Mother Support groups and PSFs), vehicle miking and door to door awareness raising; and ensure the distribution of IEC materials to health facilities, public spaces and general population
  5. Support EPI team for data management on vaccine roll-out
  6. Provide progress and final reports on health promotion intervention on COVID-19 vaccine introduction, COVID-19 prevention and routine services.

Deliverables

1.1. Workplan for the implementation of community mobilization in the sub-national level (2 days)

2.1. Key messages developed and submitted (10 days)

2.2. At least 3 audio recording of radio spots and/or talk-show from each municipality submitted

3.1. 70 CHCs reported on health promotion corners activities updated on monthly basis (20 days)

4.1. Database on the implementation of community mobilization updated on weekly basis (40 days)

5.1. Developed data monitoring sheet/format (10 days)

5.2. Data monitoring report on Saude na Familia and DHIS2 coverage

6. Progress and final report (4 days)

Contract Duration: 86 working days from September 2021 to January 2022

Proposed Payment Schedule:

20% upon submission of deliverable 1 &2

20% upon submission of deliverable 3

30% upon submission of deliverable 4

30% upon submission of deliverable 5-6

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • University degree in public health, or related field.
  • At least one-year experience in community mobilization and community engagement
  • Ability to facilitate focus group discussion in the community level
  • Knowledge and understanding of COVID-19 prevention and COVID-19 vaccine introduction at National and Municipality Levels
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and reporting writing skills
  • Excellent coordination skills, and an ability to follow instructions, work under pressure as a part of a team, or independently is required.
  • Able to drive a motorbike
