In accordance with the tasks outlined above, the incumbent is expected to produce the following outputs: • Closely Monitor the KPI’s for the Workshop and execute tasks/duties accordingly. • Accurately maintain the complete Record of Workorders, Fault reports and Warranty claims, etc for workshop unit. • Fully Participate in the preparation of the IT Workshop Unit Efficiency and Improvement Gains Report. • Prepare, advise and formulation of IT Workshop budget cost estimate including justification of resource requirements. • Prepare and follow Routine Maintenance plan for Printers and MFP’s in MHQ and Regions. • Carefully Plan and Maintain Stocks and replenishment process for business continuity.

This position is located under the Field Technology Section of MINUSMA. Under the overall supervision of the Chief Field Technology Section and under the direct supervision of the IT Workshop Supervisor, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for the following tasks: • Attend to walk-in users in a professional and polite manner, communicate clearly and effectively to end-users using good etiquette following established Standard Operating Procedures of the Workshop. • Promptly attend to user complaints of break down or maintenance of IT equipment’s such as Laptops, Desktops, Printers, UPS etc. • Provide inputs for budget and cost estimation for uninterrupted printing services to mission. • Provide Technical support to regions remotely or on-site. • Produce comprehensive reports for the Workshop using available software (Safecom, CRM) and templates presented to the Management. • Ensure effective and timely resolutions of incidents and problems within agreed time limits for ICT equipment. • Liaise with 1st line (Helpdesk) promptly to fulfill relevant service requests and resolve escalated incidents/problems with due courtesy to the end-user. • Provide concise information about the ICT services available and sources to General information when requested. • Use initiative and independent judgement to obtain understanding of existing and new applications, support them, recommend modifications, if necessary, identify and correct or provide advice on operational issues of the client computing systems and the network in general. • Take responsibility for meeting individual performance targets as agreed with the Work-shop Supervisor. • Support the culture of a cross teamwork environment in the Section • Performing other duties as assigned.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in repair and maintenance of Single function Printers, Multifunction Printers, Laptops, Desktops, and UPSs.

Bamako is a non-family duty station with a difficult security and working environment. Mali is a non-family duty station. Living conditions are acceptable in Bamako, but security instructions need to be strictly complied with. Adequate housing is available for rent at US$ 500-1500 per month. The national currency is the Franc CFA (April 2020 exchange rate was 1 US$ = 545 FCFA). Visa credit cards are accepted in some hotels and larger shops. Mali is a country prone to malaria, so mosquito nets are highly recommended. Basic medicines are available from pharmacies, but provision needs to be made for specialized medication. Security recommendations from the UN Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) must be followed by all UN Staff in the course of their assignments in Mali. For the sake of rewarding experience, UN volunteers in MINUSMA carry out their duties with flexibility, commitment, and a willingness to live and work in challenging conditions including heat and limited water and electricity supply.
