Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Service Management Unit, within the Field Technology Section (FTS), United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Naqoura. The incumbents will report to the Chief Service Management, or his/her designate.

Responsibilities - Coordinate work orders; assign tasks and projects to staff; follow up on progress of projects. - Supervise and provide work direction to staff within the unit and external contractors; produce performance assessments. - Provide advanced technical guidance; solve more complex problems; mentor and motivate staff. - Prepare budget estimates; monitor unit budget expenditures. - Implement the unit yearly work plan. - Manages the automated customer request management system; creates and assigns work orders in accordance with established procedure; escalates problems/tasks to the appropriate parties in accordance with established procedure. - Monitors problems to resolution; performs quality assurance procedures to ensure client satisfaction. Review completed work orders. - Initiate unit requisitions; research technical specifications; ascertain equipment required. - Propose performance standards and initiate advanced improvements to enhance service delivery. - Plan training courses and workshops; coordinate any further advanced training required. - Promote continuous improvement of workplace safety/ environmental practices within the unit. - Prepare and initiate presentations for mission staff and other UN agencies. - Perform other duties as required.

Education High school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical or vocational certificate in telecommunications and/or technology engineering is required.

Work Experience At least 8 years progressively responsible experience with Satellite/Microwave, HF/VHF/UHF, Telephone telecommunications installations and equipment, at the national or international level in the public or private sector is required.

At least 3 years experience should have been at a supervisory level is required.

Experience in managing the automated customer request management system is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by informal interview.
