You have:
- Advance/master degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal writing, grant writing, or a related field
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Strong research skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational skills
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge of fundraising techniques and best practices is a plus

Purpose of consultancy:
Technical Specialist on the Proposal Writer
Scope of work:

Under the overall guidance of UNFPA Representative and direct report to the Assistant Representative, you will contribute to the management of UNFPA programme activities in the areas of population dynamics, reproductive health and gender by researching, writing, and editing proposals for a variety of projects, including grants, contracts, and other funding opportunities, the consultant will:
- Conduct research to identify funding opportunities and develop strategies for winning proposals
- Write and edit proposals, including budgets, executive summaries, and program descriptions for private and public sector donors
- Collaborate with relevant programme team, and other stakeholders to ensure proposals meet all the requirements
- Develop and maintain a library of proposal templates and other resources to support proposal development efforts
- Coordinate with communication team/a graphic designer to ensure proposals are visually appealing and meet all submission requirements
- Manage multiple proposals simultaneously, adhering to tight deadlines and managing stakeholder expectations
- Stay up-to-date with donor’s priorities, best practices, trends, and techniques related to proposal writing and fundraising

Required expertise, qualifications and competencies, including language requirements:
- Advance /master degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in proposal writing, grant writing, or a related field
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to write compelling, persuasive content that effectively communicates complex ideas
- Strong research skills, with the ability to quickly gather and analyse data from a variety of sources
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals and stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver high-quality work products within tight deadlines
- Knowledge of fundraising techniques and best practices is a plus
- Fluency in English.
