OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

The Prevention and Response to Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PRSEAH) Program at the Western Pacific Region (WPR) aims to help the Regional Office and the Country Offices in the Region, to undertake and coordinate action, to prevent, prepare for, detect, and rapidly respond to any SEAH and to advocate, draft and put in place strategies to ensure a zero tolerance to SEAH in the region.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

Under the supervision of the PRSEAH Management Officer in WPR, the PRSEAH Technical Officer will:

1. Lead/contribute to Country Office focal points’ learning and development, and work towards identifying and mapping country and regional-level support and referrel services for SEAH survivours/victims, and identifying and addressing gaps in service provision. 2. Together with the regional and country office focal points, he/she will develop, implement, monitor and report on progress of implementation of the WHO SEA and SH action plans. 3. He/she will lead/contribute to SEAH risk assessment. He /she will contribute to advocacy and resource mobilization, including through developing communication tools, maintaining a central database on PRSEAH, and the organization of internal and external events.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential: First university degree in law, political science, humanities, management, communications, international relations or related field. Desirable: Master's degree in law, political science, humanities, communications, management, international relations or related field.

Experience

Essential: Five years of experience in working on issues related to human rights, humanitarian law, gender, victim-centric or protection-centered work; Experience organizing regional or medium-scale events; Experience in developing materials for trainings and conducting trainings Desirable: Experience in developing communication materials, maintaining databases, undertaking risk assessments; Experience in cooperating with government authorities and other UN agencies.

REMUNERATION

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 64,121 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 2399 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
