To support countries in the WHO African Region to provide high quality immunization services that will contribute to: (a) the reduction of mortality, morbidity and disability from vaccine preventable diseases through the optimum use of available and new vaccines and (b) the strengthening of national health systems.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The incumbent is expected to perform the following duties:-Support analyses and consolidation of all country reports in the African region on mapping of polio eradication resources (all assets and functions) to produce a Regional report;Coordinate with all AFRO clusters on polio transition planning to include information-sharing and organizing regular regional inter-cluster polio transition activities;Support documentation of polio best practices at regional/country level;Produce a monthly report depicting progress made at the regional/country levels in polio transition planning;Support mobilization of resources for transitional planning;Perform other related responsibilities as assigned, including replacing and backstopping for others as required.

REMUNERATION
WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 62,692 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 3323 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
