You have:

  • Experience in public health and communicable diseases, particularly in implementing and evaluating IPC policies, procedures, or programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency in drafting and reporting.

  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office applications.

Contract

This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.

This UNV assignment is part of WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (WHO EMRO) regional AMR/IPC programme. The UNV will support the AMR/IPC related activities in the context of ongoing and protracted conflicts and outbreak of infections.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of Medical Officer, AMR/IPC and IPC technical officer or their designated mandated representative(s), the UNV AMR/IPC Technical Officer will:

• Assist the Unit in implementing the regional priorities and programmes in IPC and AMR in coordination with other units within Department of Communicable Diseases (DCD) and World Health Emergencies (WHE) programmes in the WHO Regional office • Assist the unit in supporting WCOs and Ministries of health in strengthening IPC country surge capacity, IPC readiness, monitoring and evaluation of IPC activties and deployment to IPC emergency operations (oPt, Sudan, Lebanonn, and others) as needed • Represent the AMR/IPC unit in the regional Incident Management Support Team meetings including presenting regular IPC and AMR updates • Support the data management and analysis of IPC and AMR data, creating products from these data including manuscripts, dashboards, and reports. • Assist the regional cross sectional AMR IPC KAP survey • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
