Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the New Vaccines Introduction Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
In collaboration with the regional vaccination pillar lead and the vaccination team at the sub-regional levels, use the agreed tools to regularly review the COVID-19 vaccination progress identifying and highlighting key challenges and gaps with clear recommendations.
Follow up implementation of the recommendations with sub-regional teams and update the vaccine pillar at regional level by keeping an updated Ghannt chart of activities and timelines
- Ensure appropriate representation in the established regional and sub-regional vaccine preparedness and deployment coordination working group and sub-working groups.
- In collaboration with the regional vaccine pillar lead, the IST vaccination team, organize and document regular virtual meetings as necessary with countries/partners to assess and support implementation
- Participate in the regional vaccination coordination mechanism and the regional vaccination pillar meetings, summarize and keep track of raised action points.
Attend, contribute to decision making and document discussions at the regional task force meetings
Carry out any tasks as requested by the WHO/AFRO COVID-19 Vaccine Readiness and Delivery Taskforce (ACREDT) or as may arise
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Experience working in a multicultural environment coordinating programmes beyond one country.

Prerequisites This assignment is funded by the Government of Japan, therefore only nationals from Japan are eligible to apply.
