Expected duration Starting 1 May for 5 months.

Duties and Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of Programme Management Officer and overall guidance of the Head of the Bonn Office, the consultant will: 1. Conduct in-depth research/review and analysis of issues and trends related to climate change, and present information from diverse sources 2. Support implementation of comprehensive climate and disaster risk management, e.g., draft background papers, analysis, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc. 3. Support consultations and workshops and assist in developing the action plan the organization will use to manage integrated disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation planning.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Minimum bachelor's degree in science or social sciences in fields relevant to climate change adaptation is required. Experience: - At least 3 years of experience in climate change adaptation or disaster risk reduction is required. - Experience in conducting research and developing substantive documents is desirable Language: Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
