How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision and guidance of P4 Human Resources Manager (Learning & Development) the Technical Associate (Studio Technician) will work to operate the broadcast studio which will allow GLC to easily record, access, edit and share knowledge/information and collaborate through streaming, broadcasting and webinars.

The Technician will also work on video development, such as the recording (production and post-production) of video training, video tutorials, and informational videos. The technician will work with the local IT team on best practices with regard to use of the studio, including recommendations for future equipment, software, etc.

This will involve:

1. Operate broadcast studio

  • Management of the studio, provide production support including camera operation, stage hand and lighting for streaming and broadcasting in a multi-camera setup
  • Provide all aspects of technical support on broadcasting and webinars, including support instruction on video editing on Macintosh or/and PC, as well as location setup.
  • Maintain all video records and reference files on various subjects for easy access.

2. Video development

  • Work with the Global Learning Center staff on the creation of learning videos.
  • Work with Communication teams on the development of videos.
  • Stay up-to-date with video technology development including online streaming, cameras, lighting, audio animation, and other aspects of video production.

3. Recommendations for enhancement

  • Support the Global Learning Center by providing recommendations on best practices regarding remote broadcasting, tools and technology.

As an advocate for every child, you will have…

  • A secondary education diploma (high school) is required and University degree in video production, post-production, video editing, etc. is desirable.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in studio production and post-production and proven videography experience is required. (A relevant completed university degree from an accredited institution will be counted toward the minimum work experience requirements).
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and video editing tools is required.
  • Knowledge of E-Learning management systems is desirable
  • Experience in working with a training team is also considered an asset
  • Software such as SharePoint; knowledge or integrated management information systems is desirable
  • Ability to work in a team environment to achieve common goals is required
  • Willingness to work flexible hours is required
  • Fluency in English both spoken and written is required.
  • Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is an asset.
