Ecuador is a dollarized country, which has stabilized the economy in the last 20 years. For this reason, the country has not suffered inflation processes. The city of Quito was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO due to the good conservation of the city by the State.

In the metropolitan area of Quito live just over 3 million people, being the largest population center in Ecuador, but far from being considered a megalopolis of other Latin American countries. Within the Latin American context, it is considered as a small city.

Quito International Airport is located about 40km from the capital and is quite well connected to the city center. You have secure taxis at a cost of USD 25 dollars.

As for safety, while Quito can be considered a safe city, it is important to take precautions regarding certain places and travel times.
