GIZ International Services is shortlisted for the EU-funded tender: „Technical Assistance to the Programme EU Support to Green Economy” in Jordan.
The Overall Objective (Impact) of this action is to contribute to the development of a green, environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive post COVID-19 economy through the enhanced implementation of Jordan’s green growth strategy and action plan.
The specific objectives (Outcomes) of this contract are as follows:
enhanced sustainable and efficient production and consumption patterns in the industrial sector;enhanced coordination and sustainable resource management in the energy, water and agriculture sectors (nexus);enhanced sustainable public and private transport;enhanced circular economy and improved biodiversity and nature conservation in local development.Your profile
Qualifications and skills
- University degree as an engineer or economist, or equivalent;
- Proven experience in institutional capacity building, coordination of networks and institutional partnerships;
- Good knowledge of green economy policies, particularly focusing on the promotion of Nexus, Circular Economy and Resources Efficiency themes of relevant actors and financing mechanisms at international level; understanding of the appropriate institutional set up, regulations and standards for green economy management;
- Knowledge of green economy related technologies, technical and economic analysis, market assessment;
- Team management in a multinational context; pedagogic and communication capabilities;
- Good command of English, in speaking and writing. English will be the working language and all produced documents will have to be written in English.
- Good knowledge of modern computer tools including project management, specialised data bases, presentation and communication tools.
General professional experience
- A minimum of 10 years of green economy/growth strategies (definition, coordination, implementation, follow up and evaluation), and a minimum of 5 years of practical experience of the implementation of measures to encourage green economy development in a national or regional specialised agency or organisation/s;
- Competence on monitoring and evaluation methods related to green economy development, including demand and supply analysis, data bases, forecasting methods and planning tools;
- Practice of green economy in the sectors involved in the project, and in-depth experience of at least two components of the programme.
Specific professional experience
- Proven experience of a technical assistance or twinning programme in the field of green economy/growth, administrative cooperation or competition. Having acquired this experience in one of the countries having an association or partnership agreement with the EU or in a pre-accession country, would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of EU procedures would be an advantage.
Location information
The operational base for the project is Amman. Based on the needed input, working outside Amman is expected. As for the study tours, this should be taken into consideration to reflect best practices and ensure exchange of Know-how with EU and international best practices.
Start date & period of implementation
The intended start date is 1st November 2023 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 42 months from this date.
