Private Sector Plan for Serbia (2018-2021) involves a strategic focus on the development and expansion of the regular giving through pledge acquisition and retention. Face-to-Face fundraising has been identified as a central technique for pledge acquisition and the office has secured significant growth of pledge income through this channel in the last three years.

Team Leaders for Face to Face Fundraising are required to secure the following activities:

  • mentoring or the existing and new field Fundraisers,
  • providing administrative and logistics support to the project itself (shopping malls, suppliers of visibility and communication materials for the field fundraisers),
  • acquiring of new pledge donors,
  • representing UNICEF, its vision and mission in a professional manner.

Work Assignment Overview:

Tasks:

  1. Mentoring and supporting existing and new fundraisers in the field, conveying the message of UNICEF programme activities. Controlling and monitoring of the work of face to face fundraisers through the provision of guidance and support, quality control check-ups.
  2. Communicating the importance of sustainable funding through the private sector (regular donors) for programme implementation and its positive impact on organisational costs.
  3. Collecting sensitive donor information and its handling with the highest regard for confidentiality and information security.
  4. Supporting the recruitment process of new face to face fundraisers through communication with faculties, HR agencies, student’s organizations for employment, drafting vacancy notices and advertising materials for attracting potential candidates. Support the training process and actively participating in the selection (evaluation of written tests, role plays and giving constructive feedback).
  5. Collecting and segmenting the fulfilled pledge promises, inspecting the validity of data entered and submitting the donors’ applications to the Fundraising Assistant. Collecting and segmenting the unfulfilled pledge promises and submitting the donors’ applications to the Fundraising Assistant.
  6. Adhering to work schedule and timely delivery and handover of all paperwork (timesheets, standing order forms, donor inquiries, etc.) to the Office.
  7. Controlling and monitoring of the work of face to face fundraisers through the provision of guidance and support, performing quality control check-ups. Following instructions and procedures on how the work is to be delivered; all relevant information must be reported and communicated to the Office.

Deliverables:

  • Monthly reports, accurate and timely conduction of work tasks and handover of paperwork.
  • Number of training sessions conducted, number of new ‘facers’ recruited, facers’ turnover per month.
  • Monthly reports to include number of new donors acquired by the team, average monthly donation, accurate and timely conduction of work tasks and handover of paperwork.
  • If a Team Leader is selected for a mobile team project, he/she needs to obtain the expected norm of the mobile team (recruitment of a minimum 0.5 regular donor in 1 hour).
  • Monthly reports to include key findings on the team performance of the face to face fundraisers assigned to the contractor, maintain average monthly donation at predefined standards.
  • Number of pledge donors recruited, monthly gift per donor.

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

  • Completed high school education,
  • Experience in Face-to-Face Fundraising,
  • Understanding of UNICEF brand and general knowledge of UNICEF activities,
  • Understanding of marketing with an ethical approach,
  • Eagerness to learn,
  • Excellent interpersonal skills,
  • Goal-oriented self-starter who is able to be both a proactive leader and a hands-on participant in a collaborative work environment focused on achieving results,
  • Excellent skills to work in a team,
  • Ability to clearly communicate ideas and thoughts, both verbally and in writing, in Serbian and English language,
  • Working experience in MS Office (Word, Excel) and experience of using a database for customer relationship management,
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and provide deliverables.
