Objective of the programme

The Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh is implementing the Country Cooperation Strategy in collaboration with WHO Bangladesh, the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR), DGHS under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), as well as developing and managing WHO's technical cooperation program. The purpose of recruitment of the human resources is to run the AMR surveillance activities smoothly and efficiently in sentinel sites as well as centrally at IEDCR. The team assistant will help in documentations.

Description of duties:

The incumbent will provide support through performing of the following duties (not limited to):

  • Assist related/concern officials in the conduct of regular Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Surveillance activities
  • Will liaise with IEDCR central surveillance team and surveillance team at sites
  • Will prepare the draft office communication materials and after getting the feedbacks, will finalize and distribute to proper recipients
  • Ensure participation of relevant stakeholders as and when necessary
  • Support to organize meetings and related activities
  • Ensure dissemination of information to the relevant stakeholders
  • Conduct field visits to sentinels including outside Dhaka
  • Help in preparation of regular surveillance report
  • Any other activities assigned Director, IEDCR

Required Qualifications****:

Education:

Essential: Graduate in any discipline from recognized university with good academic record.

Desirable: Master’s in any discipline or any additional related qualification or on the job training.

Experience:

Essential: At least 2 years' experience in office assistant related work or support

Desirable: Experience of working in the UN or international organization especially in health, humanitarian or related field.

Languages: Excellent writing/reporting, communication and editing skills in English

Computer Literacy: Proficient in using computer software applications (MS- Office Particularly)

Place of assignment: Dhaka, Bangladesh. Candidate will be based primarily with the AMR team at IEDCR Dhaka
