Assist in managing renovation projects at ESCWA
You have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related area is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in construction, engineering and/or renovation is required.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
Result of Service The individual contractor will be expected to produce satisfactory and timely completion of renovation works.

Duties and Responsibilities Background: The Team Assistant will be a member of the projects team and assist in managing and supervising renovation projects at ESCWA
Duties and Responsibilities: a. Prepare Tender documents (i.e. BOQ, specifications and drawings). b. Assist the project management’s team in the preparation and monitoring of the tendering, tender analysis and awarding procedures. c. Conduct regular site visits with the project team. d. Conduct progress meetings and prepare minutes of meetings. e. Receive and evaluate shop drawings, material submittals, inspection requests and method statements. f. Evaluate Variations cost impact, if any. g. Review project schedule and updates during construction. h. Monitor progress of works versus baseline and discuss mitigation measures with contractor in case of delays.
Qualifications/special skills A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related area is required.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA.
For this position, fluency in English and Arabic is required.
Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.
Additional Information Recruitment for this position is on a local basis. The incumbent is required to have the legal right to live and work in the specified working location.
