You have:

  • High School Diploma; first degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or human resources is highly desirable.
  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in general office support or related area is required.
  • Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic are required.
  • Good computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel are required.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Organizational Setting, Purpose, and Objective: The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. The Individual Contractor will provide overall administrative and programmatic support to the programme operations, especially with the engagement of the Office in the UN System. This position is located in the Regional Office for West Asia in Beirut, Lebanon. The Individual Contractor will be report to the deputy regional Director.

2. Duties and Responsibilities: The Individual Contractor will carry-out, inter alia, the following duties & responsibilities: - Performs a wide range of office support and administrative functions. - Responds or drafts responses to routine correspondence and other communications; uses standard word processing package to produce a wide variety of large, complex documents and reports. - Monitors processes and schedules related the unit’s outputs, products, tasks, etc.; where applicable, assists in the verification of receipt and accuracy of requisite documents, approvals, signatures, etc. to ensure compliance with relevant legal, financial and other requirements. - Researches, compiles and organizes information and reference materials from various sources for reports, work plans, studies, briefings, meetings/conferences, etc. - Proofreads documents and edits texts for accuracy, grammar, punctuation and style, and for adherence to established standards for format. - Responds to moderately complex information requests and inquiries (e.g., answers requests requiring file search, etc.), and as necessary, refers inquiries to appropriate personnel for handling. - Provides secretarial, administrative and logistics support to meetings, workshops, etc. - Assists in updating website contents, archiving, and organizing files electronically - Assists in the preparation of presentation materials using appropriate technology/software. - Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/special skills High School Diploma. First degree university in business administration, finance, accounting and human resources or related areas is highly desirable. At least 2-3 years’ experience in general office support or related area is required Good computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel are required. Familiarity with ERP systems is desirable.

Languages Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic are required.
