Role Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Team Leader to provide strategic leadership and oversight for a large-scale energy sector programme. The role will focus on driving programme delivery, coordinating diverse stakeholders, strengthening institutional performance, and ensuring the successful execution of strategic priorities. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to transformational development outcomes through leadership, delivery management, and stakeholder engagement.
Role and Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership and oversight across programme workstreams.
Drive implementation of programme priorities and delivery objectives.
Coordinate stakeholders across government, development partners, the private sector, and implementing institutions.
Establish effective governance, reporting, and performance management mechanisms.
Lead programme planning, prioritisation, and resource coordination.
Promote institutional strengthening and sustainable delivery practices.
Produce strategic updates and recommendations for senior decision-makers.
Requirements
Experience Required
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in programme leadership, infrastructure, energy, public sector delivery, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Experience working with government institutions, development partners, and senior decision-makers.
Technical Requirements
Master’s Degree in Energy, Engineering, Economics, Development Studies, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Strong programme leadership and delivery management expertise.
Knowledge of energy sector planning, financing, and implementation.
Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

Working Arrangement
Based full-time in Lilongwe, with periodic travel within Malawi as required.
