Established in 2015, UNICEF’s Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) provides services to UNICEF offices across the world in the areas of Finance, Master Data Management, Human Resources Administration, Payroll, and Customer Care (IT Global Help Desk).

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF is seeking qualified candidates for our roster of IT Assistants at the GS-5 level in the Global Shared Services Centre in Budapest, Hungary.

IT assistants provide first tier support to restore normal service to users as quickly as possible, fix technical faults, fulfil service requests, answer queries and provide other support as needed to allow users to continue working. The IT Assistants serve as the point of contact between Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and users/customers in all UNICEF locations for all matters related to ICT service provisioning.

These roles are ideal for early career professionals who wish to gain international exposure to a progressive expanding Centre of Excellence. Successful applicants will participate in a thorough technical assessment. These roles are office-based.

As an advocate for every child, you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education (high school diploma)
  • 5 years of work experience in Information Technology (IT) is required. A completed university degree from an accredited institution will be counted toward the minimum work experience requirements
  • Advanced knowledge in the Microsoft Suite of Products (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) is a strong asset
  • Work experience in dealing with Customer Support and Services is desirable
  • University level courses in computer science, information systems, engineering, telecommunications, or equivalent qualifications are desirable
  • Work experience with a development organization is an asset
  • Non-EU citizens must be in possession of a valid work permit (not related to an employer) for Hungary. Please attach this to your application
