Job Summary

Under the direction of Section Chief, the System Engineer serves as a member of the Dissemination, Collaboration and Search Section, and provides a wide range of services in the knowledge management and content solutions.

The successful candidate will be involved in the end-to-end systems life cycle and be responsible for the requirements, design, implementation, testing, maintenance and support of technology solutions and on-time delivery of IT products and services in the areas of IMF member and partner engagements while leveraging Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) based web content management platform and Extranet applications. The candidate will contribute to help the business departments on Adobe Campaign, develop business function using AEM Forms and other AEM products. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for platform services of enterprise search, product enhancements and system integrations with other enterprise knowledge management solutions.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Leads the solutioning, development, delivery, support, and, at times, operations, of knowledge management platform and solutions ensuring consistency with specified requirements and towards outcomes, agreed with product management and business stakeholders.

2. Assists, works alongside, and is an alternate to the platform owner(s) in the information and knowledge management domain areas.

3. Takes full responsibility for the balance between functional, service quality, and systems management requirements within the Platform area.

4. Applies Enterprise Architecture principles, Information Security guidelines, and other IT policies and standard procedures in the development of platform and product solutions.

5. Conducts investigations at a high level for strategy and feasibility studies, platform/technology requirements.

6. Contributes in preparing business cases which define potential benefits, options for achieving these benefits through development of new or changed processes, and associated business risks.

7. Facilitates the planning sessions with product owners and identified business stakeholders, to develop platform roadmap and prioritization for platform enhancements.

8. Advises product owners and business stakeholders on adoption of technology standards and methods and ensures compliance.

9. Takes responsibility for the technical aspect at all stages and/or iterations in a software development cycle from platform side, providing method specific technical advice and guidance to Platform stakeholders.

10. Develops and maintains a detailed knowledge of platform process improvement.

11. Contributes effectively to identifying new areas of platform process improvement within the organization.

12. Carries out platform process improvement assignments, justified by measurable business benefits.

13. Contributes to the development of artifacts such as, Statement of Work, Request for Proposals, Status Reports, and other Procurement, PMO, and Managed Services Providers related documents while working as a member of platform team or a member of Integrated Delivery Team for IT capital projects

14. Collaborates with product management team to review Statement of Objective and business requirements for application enhancements and develops high level cost estimate; collaborates with vendor management office to negotiate with Managed Service Provider (MSP) and to finalize SOW; oversees the development and delivery of product enhancement by the MSP.

15. Documents and reviews manuals and knowledge artifacts for End Users, Help Desk, and other use.

Minimum Qualifications

Educational development, typically acquired through the completion of an advanced university degree in computer science, engineering, Information Systems, Information Management or related field of study or equivalent, plus a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience; or a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field of study plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, is required.

  • IT experience with direct responsibility for solution development and deployment, application operation and maintenance, IT planform support, IT project management, and/or IT service delivery.
  • Comprehensive understanding of information technology, IT delivery models and systems engineering concepts.
  • Strong organization and communications skills.
  • Understanding, solutioning, development, delivery and support of information and knowledge management technologies.
  • 5+ years’ experience in design and development in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) v6.5.x
  • Experience leading Web Content Management (WCM) or Digital Asset Management (DAM) technical design and implementation for business, customer marketing & externally facing solutions.
  • Experience leading small/medium sized teams, including offshore resources
  • Hands-on experienced on couple of AEM products such as AEM Forms development, AEM Campaign, Adobe Analytics, and content migration.
  • Experience in setting up AEM authoring and publish instances, configuring dispatcher
  • Experience with Digital Rights Management.
  • Experience with Content and Asset Lifecycle Management processes.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Java, J2EE, or .Net Development in Web-centric applications
  • Working knowledge of Apache Sling and Java Content Repository (JCR)
  • Understanding of search technology and experience working on enterprise search solutions are desirable
